The Optional Onsite Acupoint Review offers practical training for current and past CVA students to revise and practice locating acupuncture points on live animals with the guidance of instructors.

Overview

The Optional Onsite Acupoint Review is a hands-on learning experience designed for both current CVA students and previous CVA graduates who wish to refresh, locate, and discuss acupuncture points on live animals facilitated by instructors. This in-person review session allows participants to revisit and deepen their understanding of all CVA-required acupuncture points, reinforcing both point location accuracy and technique application in a structured setting. This course mirrors the CVA wet lab setup.

Objective

Provide hands-on, in-person review of all CVA-required acupuncture points.

Enhance point location accuracy and refresh through direct instructor feedback.

Offer a structured review experience identical to the CVA wet lab setup.

Support previous CVA graduates in maintaining and refining their acupuncture proficiency.

Instructors

Dr. Brannan graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. In 2004, she became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist, completing the Small Animal Acupuncture course at Chi. Dr. Brannan is currently continuing her education in Chinese Herbal Medicine, Food Therapy, and Tui-na at Chi. She divides her time amongst three practices in Gainesville, Micanopy and Ocala, and keeping up with her daughter.

A Chinese veterinarian proficient in both Eastern and Western veterinary practices, Dr. Shu Dai passionately believes in the synergy of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) and conventional animal healthcare. His career ambition has evolved to focus on blending TCVM with modern veterinary methods. He has observed how TCVM can simplify complex cases, leading to better management and outcomes. This experience has strengthened his dedication to TCVM, aspiring to integrate it into his practice and research. His journey in veterinary medicine continually reinforces the importance of this integration.

Dr. Zamora got his DVM at Universidad Central de Venezuela, Maracay, Venezuela in 1997. He was certified as an Equine Chiropractor by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association at Illinois in 1998. In 2000, Dr. Zamora became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist at the Chi Institute and China National Society of TCVM. He has been pursuing a Master\'s degree in TCVM since 2004. Currently, he is practicing at the Central Equine Hospital of Ocala, Florida with emphasis on reproduction, lameness, chiropractic and acupuncture.

Dr. Langlois is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. He has been an equine practitioner in Marion County, Florida for the past 32 years, where he established his own practice in 1983 with an emphasis on reproductive medicine, lameness diagnostics, and surgery. He has received advanced training in veterinary acupuncture, Chinese veterinary herbal medicine, and veterinary Tui-na massage. He has been practicing for over 30 years and has been using Chinese medicine and spinal manipulation successfully for over 10 years enjoying treating at many of the prestigious thoroughbred farms in Marion County, FL.
