Bio
Rochelle has worked as an equine vet in Matamata, New Zealand for the past 25years.
She graduated from Massey university in 1993 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree after completing a Bachelor of Agriculture Science and a post graduate diploma in Animal nutrition. Rochelle started her career in mixed practice in Taranaki before travelling and working in the UK.
In 1998 settling in Matamata, in the Waikato region and the hub of the thoroughbred breeding and racing industry in NZ.
Her interests include equine reproduction, stud medicine and more recently acupuncture.
In 2019, she became certified in veterinary acupuncture in Australia. In 2024, she was awarded the Jonathan Hope “young at heart” practitioner scholarship and spent time in Kentucky. Currently she is taking the advanced equine acupuncture course at Chi university in Florida.
Rochelle is enjoying being able to offer a different perspective to traditional western medicine and has found incorporating TCM and acupuncture into many facets of everyday practice to be very rewarding. She also enjoys teaching and passing these skills to others.
