Course Overview
This immersive 2.5-day course (14-hour lectures and 8-10-hour labs) is designed to build expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound for accurate diagnosis and ultrasound-guided interventional procedures, with a primary focus on soft tissue injuries of the thoracic and pelvic limbs. The course features a combination of in-depth lectures, live scanning demonstrations, and hands-on practice.

Syllabus Highlights
Scanning techniques for the biceps, supraspinatus, infraspinatus, glenohumeral ligament, carpal flexors, and major joints (shoulder, elbow, carpus, digits)
Scanning techniques for the iliopsoas, gracilis, sciatic nerve, collateral ligaments, gastrocnemius, Achilles tendon, and major joints (hip, stifle, digits)
Ultrasound assessment of wounds (abscess/hematoma), embedded foreign bodies, and musculoskeletal neoplasia
Ultrasound-guided sampling of soft tissue and osseous lesions
Ultrasound-guided intra-articular, tendon/ligament, and paravertebral perineural glucocorticoid injections
Interactive discussion of real cases to integrate scanning techniques, pathology recognition, and clinical decision-making
Rehabilitation strategies for managing common soft tissue injuries, including supraspinatus and biceps tendinopathy, iliopsoas strain, and Achilles tendinopathy

This workshop is open exclusively to veterinarians, including general practitioners, rehabilitation veterinarians, sports medicine and rehabilitation specialists, radiologists, radiology residents, and other veterinary specialists/residents, who seek to develop hands-on scanning skills and enhance their ability to perform and interpret musculoskeletal ultrasound, and ultrasound-guided joint/soft tissue injection procedures.

Instructors
Elodie Huguet
DVM, DACVR
Elodie grew up in France before moving to South Carolina in 2001. She obtained her veterinary degree at the University of Georgia and pursued her radiology interest with a one-year internship at Virginia Equine Imaging in Middleburg, VA. She then completed a small animal rotating internship at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Louisville, KY followed by a radiology internship at Veterinary Specialty Hospital of the Carolinas in North Carolina.
Following the completion of her radiology internship, Elodie accepted a radiology residency at Veterinary Specialty Hospital of the Carolinas and then joined the UF diagnostic imaging team in 2019 to complete her residency. Elodie is now excited to be working part time as a clinical assistant professor of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Florida and to be part of the IDEXX teleradiology team.
Erin Porter
DVM, DACVR, DACVR-EDI
Erin Porter is a 2007 graduate of the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine. Immediately following veterinary school, she practiced as an ambulatory equine practitioner for 2 years before returning to UF to complete a specialized internship focused on equine lameness and large and small animal diagnostic imaging. As a faculty Radiologist at UF, she was designated Service Chief of Diagnostic Imaging from 2017-2021. In 2021, she became board certified as an Equine Diagnostic Imaging specialist within the American College of Veterinary Radiology, and is very excited to join the team at Community Care Veterinary Specialists. Her imaging interests include equine musculoskeletal imaging and small animal ultrasound. In her spare time, she enjoys jogging, yoga and spending time with her two children.
Hayley Paradise
DVM, DACVR
Hayley Paradise is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Florida. She completed her veterinary degree at North Carolina State University, a residency in radiology at Louisiana State University, and now specializes in feline imaging, including radiographs, ultrasound, CT, and MRI.
Ronald B. Koh
DVM, MS, DACVSMR, CVA, CCRV, CCRP, CVMMP, CVCH, CVFT, CVPP, CVTP, CHPV
Dr. Ronald Koh, originally from Malaysia, earned his veterinary degree in Taiwan and has been practicing in the United States since 2009. He is a board-certified specialist in Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation with advanced expertise in pain management, acupuncture, manual therapy, TCVM, and integrative medicine.
Dr. Koh is the founder of the canine rehabilitation veterinary certification (CCRV) program at Chi University and serves as a professor there. He previously held faculty positions as clinical assistant professor at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine and later as clinical associate professor of Integrative Medicine at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.
He holds multiple certifications in acupuncture (CVA), rehabilitation (CCRP, CCRV), pain management (CVPP), medical manipulation (CVMMP), herbal therapy (CVCH), food therapy (CVFT), Tui-na (CVTP), and hospice and palliative care (CHPV), and integrative veterinary cancer care (IVCCP-pending). His professional passions include managing chronic diseases, chronic pain, mobility dysfunction, cancer, and advancing the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound, with the ultimate goal of restoring mobility and enhancing quality of life for animals through a multimodal, holistic approach.
A sought-after national and international speaker, Dr. Koh regularly presents at conferences and teaches workshops not only across North America but also throughout Asia and European countries. He has authored numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed publications on topics including acupuncture, TCVM, rehabilitation, pain management, laser therapy, and integrative medicine.
Outside of his professional life, he enjoys hiking, traveling, and exploring diverse cultures. Fun fact: Dr. Koh speaks five languages—English, Mandarin, Hakka, Cantonese, and Malay.
Jennifer Repac
DVM, DACVSMR, CVA, CCRT, CVCH
A California native, Dr. Jennifer Repac graduated from the University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. She spent two years working as a veterinarian and teacher for a small animal practice in Beijing. Dr. Repac has been practicing veterinary acupuncture since 2011 and has traveled twice to Guangzhou, China to teach acupuncture with the Chi Institute. She then completed her residency in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Animal Medical Center. She is now an assistant clinical professor at the University of Florida Small Animal Hospital's Integrative Medicine and Mobility Service.
